almost...

but not quite. I have been knitting but not tons. The weather has just been too beautiful to knit. On Sunday we had a family outing to the zoo.

watching some beautiful birds

We walked around for about three hours in the sunshine. All the fresh air seemed to take its toll however.

all zoo'd out

So needless to say my knitting has not been front and center. BUT I am almost done my CANCAN store model. Plus, I still have the arms to do on my Luka sweater but I think I can get that done this week too. Once I get that done I'll have finished most of my goals for the month which is a good thing since the month is almost over.

ON the becky wanna be front. I love the colors of the yarn but I don't know if I am that crazy about the texture. SO I might change the yarn. I am still debating about it at the moment.

plush me...

I love Berroco's Plush.

the baby sweater I made in 4 days!! Much better than a baby blanket I say. Now I can focus on my other projects.

Along the lines of finishing things, I've done the back and the front and have started the sleeves of my luka sweater. I see the light at the end of the tunnel with this one.

As for my becky wanna be sweater. I have swatched for it but have not started it. I am using the blue on the bottom and the purpleyblue on the top. I am NOT allowed to start any more projects until I get some of my other one's done. SO I have been knitting away on my stash to get things finished. Hence, the luka sweater being almost done. I have been sick this week too which is why I haven't been posting. Ick on baby germs. Gotta love kids!

changing minds

So I changed my mind. It's a woman's perogative ... isn't it? [no you don't have to answer that]. I frogged the baby blanket. It was going to take too long and there are so many other projects I want to work on. So, I did a quick and dirty project. You know those, the one's that you can get done in less than a week and be happy about it. I used Berroco's Plush (love this stuff, its sooooo soft) and did a baby sweater. I started it late Monday night and finished it last night after work. (you will get a picture as soon as my batteries charge for my camera) So now its back to my own projects.

I am in the process of swatching for the Becky wanna be sweater. And I am seriously thinking about NOT doing smooch. The only reason being, is that I have so many other projects and I really should focus on them. I need to get some completed. ~i hate making these decisions~

Oh and tonight one of the yarn reps is coming in. I love seeing the reps. Feeling the yarn, seeing what is new. It is like being a kid in a candy shop!!

ask and you shall receive...

A total and complete stop has occurred with all of my knitting. Notice I said "my" knitting. Not my knitting for other people? Instead I told my dear husband that I would knit a present for one of his partners whose wife had a baby this week. I was at first going to do a sweater, but then I saw a picture of a cute blanket done in seed stitch. Yes seed stitch. So now I am knitting up a frenzy trying to get it done sometime soon. I started it last night.

In other knitting news, I have updated my side bar, adding and moving things around. There are new pictures for Luka. I did finish the back of the sweater and have started on the front. One of my goals met for this month! I am also doing a store model for the shop which is top priority along with the baby blanket.

Of course I can't forget to talk about turquoise madness. I love this sweater. I am holding together a strand of Tahki's Cotton Classic and a strand of Koigu. This is the same as my calmer sweater just brighter. I also think that I am going to make the sleeves longer. BUT, this is another project that has been put to the side.

In Knitalong news, (notice this is down at the bottom...I am trying to hide my guilt) I did swatch for smooch. The yarn I am going with is Lang's Twin Colors in a light blue/white mix. The color didn't come up too well in these pictures because I had to take them without the flash. But the yarn is yummy. Also I updated the two phildar knitalongs. You can see my colors for my Becky wanna be sweater. I am in LOVE with this yarn. Also, I have a question about the colors for the summer top. I am not sure what colorway to go with.

See now, all you who have asked for pictures, you shall receive!

what to do, what to do...

So I am having a bit of a problem. I really really REALLY want to swatch for smooch. I mean REALLY. BUT, well, an associate of Ralph's (my husband) wife had a baby yesterday. I told him that I would knit something up. NOW, I could knit something really quick out of a bigger yarn (I am tempted) even though there is this cute sweater in Rowan's Pipsqueaks book that I would like to do. (done out of Wool Cotton which is smaller needles). Plus, I am working on Luka (the back is done!) and my store model out of can can (yes pictures soon, i know .. this seems to be a running theme), plus a plethora of other projects for myself ... my FDC antea and dolce amore sweater, my Tahki Cotton Classic and Koigu sweater ... and those are just the one's out. (one day I will list the projects on needles ... it will stress me out but would probably be a good thing for me to do, perhaps it will kick my butt in gear to get some of them finished).

So do I swatch for Smooch? I'll contemplate it today. I work this afternoon and depending on how busy it is I might be able to knit a few rows. Otherwise I won't get around to some serious knitting till tonight. Perhaps tomorrow I'll swatch? Or finish something else ... Oh I just don't know.

Plus, I know that we are going to be getting all this COOL and GREAT yarn into the store for the fall. So I need to get going on my projects at home so I can add more to my stash. My one piece of furniture is already full of yarn. Not that I am complaining. But I have projects that I really want to do in there to.

Okay I'm going to stop whining now. In reality, this isn't that big of a deal, its just yarn (to the non knitter that is, to us knitters, i know you understand) ..

finally, some pictures

I am so bad about posting pictures UNLESS I remember to bring the camera upstairs. Yes I am Lazy with a capital L. But alas, they are finally here. I made that extra trip down those dreaded stairs and back up again just for you all (hehe)

on the blocking board

Here it is on the blocking board. My newest aquisition from patternworks.com. I am not a real blocking/finishing enthusiast however, I think that I am going to turn into one. I really noticed a difference in the before and after product of my knitting.

big b**bs, little tank

Here of course it is, on me. I won't go into the discussion about how I think it makes me look. I do love it though. I'll just be wearing it underneath one of my button down shirts!

So there it is. the pictures I had promised. I have to go around and get some more of the other projects I'm doing. But for that I am going to have to wait for a sunny day.
