how did they know?

you are darkorchid
#9932CC

Your dominant hues are blue and magenta. You're the one who goes to all the parties but doesn't quite fit in at every one... you know what you want, but are afraid of what the world might think of it. You're a little different and that's okay with them, and if you're smart it's okay with you too.

Your saturation level is higher than average - You know what you want, but sometimes know not to tell everyone. You value accomplishments and know you can get the job done, so don't be afraid to run out and make things happen.

Your outlook on life is brighter than most people's. You like the idea of influencing things for the better and find hope in situations where others might give up. You're not exactly a bouncy sunshine but things in your world generally look up.

my goodness, something finished?

Why yes, something has been finished. Hide your shock. Close that mouth. Yes I know starteritis has been a big part of my knitting career. However, I conquered that demon, even if it was only because it was a present!

I completed Miss Martha's Poncho. Yes I have a picture. However my ftp program is not co-operating at the moment so I am hoping to update later on today with the pics. I did it out of Rowans Big Wool in light purple and put Berroco's Chinchilla Bulky in Dark Purple around the neck. Very cute. The patter is from Sally Melville's The Knit Stitch.

I have also swatched for B&B and started it. However i think i have screwed it up already so I am going to have to fix that. But it won't be a problem because i'll just fix it as i work the next row.

I am also working on a sweater jacket kit that i got last year. That will have pictures to.

I will post more later today. Right now i have to go get my hot water heater fixed!

let it snow

No really, I mean it ... i want SNOW!! I got a teaser of it this morning but alas, it did not stick around, nor did it get any heavier. *sighs* is a little snow too much to ask for?

On the knitting front. I have finished the custom knitting job (a basic scarf) and can now start focussing on me. Because, that is what it is all about afterall. Me.

I do have to work on the Poncho for Miss Martha but it really shouldn't take that long to finish up. Perhaps that is what i will do tonight. I still haven't swatched for the B&B but I know that if I do I won't be able to stop knitting it. So I must I must I must (can you hear me trying to convince myself?) complete my christmas presents first.

Welcome Elisabeth, Rachel and Gwen to the knitalong!!!

why yes ... i think i will ...

Well i have yet to swatch for the B&B though the yarn is out and staring at .. beckoning me to knit it up. Hopefully this weekend, if not next week!

Right now its all about knitting for others.
Poncho for Miss Martha
scarf for a lady from the store
finished a store model hat
almost finished a pair of store model gloves

just stuff like that ... but i am here ... am around ... and am knitting my little heart out. Plus people at work have been ill so i've worked every day this week.

Oh and we are starting to see reps for spring yarn. How wild is that ... its not even Xmas yet!!

P.S. did you see the new issue of Knitty

holy schmoly she finished something...

Yes. Its amazing. The girl with starteritis has actually finished something. Its done. Its over with. And am I ever happy with the results.

The sweater is out of Rowan's Yorkshire Tweed Chunky and the pattern is from Rowan #30. The sweater comes in two lengths, a long and cropped version. I however did a sweater that is just in between as the long version was too long and the short was way too short (of course it would show the WRONG parts of my body)

Of course, if you want more pictures they are here.

I got great comments about the sweater and I very very pleased with it!!
