March 27, 2004Spring has Sprungand with the arrival of Spring, it seems that changes are occurring in my life. The changes are very good, yet there is a bit of apprehension and also sadness. I have been offered a job, which I accepted. This job is going to help out my family alot and also put me on a career path. The fact that I am know that I am going to be able to move up the corporate ladder is very exciting. Also, I have been putting off finishing my degree (well, I just haven't been giving it any time or priority in my life). So now that I have been given this opportunity I am going to finish off my degree by obtaining a Bach of Business Administration. Way cool The down side of all of this is that I am going to not be working at my yarn store anymore. Funny, I call it mine *chuckles* because I have a vested interest in it doing well and a part of me is there and always will be. That is the place where I met some of the most wonderful people who turned out to be some of my best friends. The things I have learned and the knowledge that I have gained has been invaluable. I am hoping to still be able to work for the mean time on a fill in basis since right now this is only a part time (29 hrs/week) job. Also, I am hoping to still be teaching classes which will allow me to keep that hands on with other knitters. I am not sure how much knitting I will be getting done over the next few weeks since I'm going out of town for training (my very first time away from my son) and I have set myself a schedule for school work. But I know that I will be knitting some ... we DO have the audry knitalong happening in case you missed it. Also, I've been home since Cameron has been a bit sick. So while He has been spending his time sleeping I have been organizing. Friday night I spent 4 hours reorganizing my closet. Gawd it was a mess. The suitcase from my trip in August was still in there *yikes* ... needless to say it is now very organized. Work clothing on the top rack and play clothes on the bottom for both me and my husband. Today while C was napping I was able to clean up my yarn stash area. It was getting really out of hand since that was where I had been throwing laundry. After a few hours it was much better. But I also realized that i have a f*ck of a lot of yarn. I have 8 count them ... 8 ... Hanne Falkenberg kits. When am I going to knit them? Okay well I plan on starting one in the next few months. But will that stop me from buying yarn? I don't think so. The city I am going to has a great yarn store that I have been meaning to check out. A few of my friends have been there many times and enjoy it. SO, That is where I am going to get my Ingeborg yarn. Just another excuse to enhance the stash. Posted by Morgan at 6:33 PM

March 21, 2004no knittingpretty much no knitting has been done. I am in pain from my teeth being pulled. I am now on antibiotics as I am unsure if perhaps the pain is from a bit of an infection. Basically I am getting about an hour of relief out of every 5. I'm even staggering the drugs. *sigh* and here I was hoping that I would get to do some serious knitting. Though I did get a poncho for work finished (yes I will take pictures) BUT that only took me about 2 hours over a period of 2 days. Posted by Morgan at 9:43 PM

March 16, 2004whadda think?Well first off, when we came home from our little trip i found a little present from my secret knitting pal. Beautiful stitch markers. beautiful stitch markers But i know that you are wondering what opinion i am asking for. Not that any of my knit blogging friends have opinions or anything. I have restarted Charlotte's Web. Not because I am having problems with it, but because the more I was looking at it, the more I didn't like the way that the colors were blending together. I have a hot pink that is quite stunning, but it was too drastic in the color change. ![]() see? how it suddenly changes? While I am not as far into the pattern as I was in the previous piece, I've still made some progress. ![]() better color blending You can't really see the color changes like before. I am liking this much more. I've also decided to do some bigger patches of colors in the beginning. I really like the green that i am working with at the moment, not that you can see it here that well, but its really beautiful. non knitting content ![]() look ma, i'm backwards Posted by Morgan at 10:00 PM

March 14, 2004by golly, there is progressWell gosh darn. Geeeeeee whiz. Why yup, here it is... ![]() Can you see it? if you look REALLY closely you can. Look at the previous post. Then at this one. See, progress HAS been made on Bed and Breakfast JUST like I had planned this weekend. Granted. I didn't get a ton of knitting time while we were travelling however, last night I was able to get a substantial amount done on the back of the sweater. On the drive home I was able to get the cables done up to the armholes and I am hoping to get the same done on the back piece this week. *fingers crossed* I am not sure though how much knitting I will be getting done as I am going into the dentist for some extractions. Yes thats right folks, four teeth are coming out to make room in my tiny mouth so that my braces can actually work their magic. Testing out the van was a fantastic way for us to spend some family time together. We tested out the dvd player, changing a diaper in the car, moving from the front to the back and the back to the front. Changed movies. Listened to a book on tape. All the while Cameron hung out ... ![]() that is ... when he wasn't sleeping ... Posted by Morgan at 6:59 PM

March 12, 2004old & newThis weekend is going to be all about my own knitting. We are going to be testing out the new mini van and in doing so I am taking my Bed & Breakfast sweater with me. Even though I am putting my winter knitting away, I still want to work on it without the pressure of seeing it all the time. I had cast on the back of the sweater so that I had something that was just basic ribbing. ![]() current progress Hopefully I will have some progress to show you after the weekend! March 10, 2004Spring CleaningWell okay just on the blog. Its not spring yet, but the sun is shining and i've got spring fever. Okay that is a lie too. I've got starteritis and i'm just masking it as spring fever. I've done some cleaning up and re-organizing of the side bar. The projects that i've stalled have been moved to my gallery page since they are projects that i'm not really working on but might pick up every now and then. Charlotte's Web I've finally got the pattern figured out. Andrea at work took it home and worked on it a bit to get me back on track. I was going to toss it aside I was so frustrated. But alas, Charlotte has started to cooperate and i'm actually getting some progress done. My digital camera is out of batteries or else I would have given you a picture of it. I have to admit, I love koigu. I think that i've mentioned that once or twice before. But there is just something about it that makes me want to sing to the heavens when I am working with it. If anyone is wondering about the pattern, i've written it it out over the 16 rows. It makes much more sense that way for me since the graph is partial. I am going to have to remember to do that with future koigu patterns. Julie has mentioned doing the Koigu Keepsake Shawl and I'm seriously considering doing this project after I complete Charlotte. So long as Charlotte keeps behaving. Afterthought: I got my van. can i say HEAVEN!! wow. I am loving it. Posted by Morgan at 10:25 AM

Currently Coveting**more time to knit all the things I want** Posted by Morgan at 9:56 AM
March 8, 2004better?This is the first morning in a week that I have woken up actually able to breath and swallow. I'm quite happy about that. Thanks to everyone for the 'get better soon' well wishes! On the knitting front: I was able to get a store model shawl done out of a new yarn called Rondo. It was just a quick little one where I cast on 135 stitches on a size 13 needle and decreased both ends every row. It makes the shawl long width wise but short length wise. Perfect for throwing over your shoulders in the air conditioning OR wearing wrapped around your hips (as a funky customer showed me!) I am also working on the summer poncho out of Tahki's Capri for the store (yes I will eventually get photo's of these, probably when the poncho is done). But now for my quandry. I have been working a bit on my other projects. HOWEVER, they are WINTER projects. *sighs* and there are SUMMER projects that I would like to start. So what do I do? Do I put them away until later? Do I keep one out and put the rest away? Do I not start any summer projects? OH the decisions. The thing is, its starting to get warm here. And knitting with these warm materials just isn't .. cool. But I also want to be able to have some neat knit tops for summer time. I also refuse to start Audrey until April 1 like everyone else. What would you do? Posted by Morgan at 6:35 AM
