White Lies Designs Knit Along

Danielle from Poetic Purl is taking a stab at hosting her first knit along. I am along for the ride and helping her out.

Joan McGowan-Michael is the owner and designer of these wonderful romantic knits. Visit her web site White Lies Designs to see her unique, vintage, and classic style patterns. You can also locate her patterns from several popular online stores, as well as Knitty. Find one you love and join us for a knit along starting in November.

I think that I am going to do this sweater for it.

midterms

Its the week of midterms. I have four this week and one next. Oh how they cut into my knitting time. But alas, it is late and I am determined to knit before I go to bed. I am willing to stay up late tonight just so that I get some in. I have also come to the conclusion after a lot of debating that I am going to teach myself how to crochet. Yes folks there you have it. I am going to do it. I am going to jump in with both feet and perhaps even perform a cannon ball. I am armed and ready to go. It helps that tiny owl knits is an awesome crochet goddess and is going to give me lessons.

Speaking of tiny owl knits ... if you haven't looked her up you might want to do so. I am shamelessly plugging away for her because she is so cool. She has been making this awesome stich markers (I WILL take a picture of mine) and also some very cool bags. She is producing some for to sell and will be selling some I'm sure on her website also. Once I get my hands on MY snazzy bag that she is making for me I will post pictures of that too. I am one who believes that there are never enough knitting bags because its an excuse to put another project into it.

Onto other news. Knitting. Kyoto. Willow. Loving it. Nuff Said.

Mission Falls 1824 Cotton. Yoga Bag. Knit Wit. Yarn not as awesome during knitting. Love Yarn once knit up. Bag kicks ass so far.

Dishclothes. Christmas Presents. Need to get Needle clickity clacking.

Midterms. So over them.

St. Louis. Travelling Thursday. YAY new yarn store.

Ps. For those of you who commented in my comments that are now turned back on and my email about them being back on I just wanted to say this. I had missed them being on. BUT. In a two week period I cleaned up more than a hundred spam comments. It bites. But I'll keep them on and just try to keep the spam from happening!

sew up them squares

It was a pleasant afternoon spent sewing up squares with the Mason Dixon crew and Friends. A very good time was had and I even have the pictures to prove it. However, You will have to check over at Mason Dixon and Angel Hair Yarn to see them because I have other pictures to post!!

CHARLOTTE

For all of you who have been asking (quite patiently might I add) about pictures of Charlotte I finally have them. I had to block her twice and I may do it one more time to get her loose enough.

Thoughts on her: If / when I do her again I will probably go up to a size seven needle so that I won't have to do so much blocking. ALSO I like not having any fringe on her. But enough of me talking. Here she is in all of her glory.

no wool....and other things...

I have been busy knitting, but nothing with wool in it. Or at least, the wool I was knitting with I had to put aside. My allergies have been killing me. My eyes are red and puffy. So I needed to put it all aside for a bit and work with cotton and linen and other synthetic yarns. But ... don't worry. It wont' be for long.

Now, on to better things.

knitting guru

Knitting Guru
You appear to be a Knitting Guru. You love knitting
and do it all the time. While finishing a piece
is the plan, you still love the process, and
can't imagine a day going by without giving
some time to your yarn. Packing for vacation
involves leaving ample space for the stash and
supplies. It can be hard to tell where the yarn
ends and you begin.
