to procrastinate...

I am back from my mini vacation. Now, I am going to be on a plane on SATURDAY PEOPLE to Calgary.

I need to start packing.

Have I?

Okay maybe one or two boxes. But not much. HOLY CRAP!! I have so much to do. I will have internet access of course when I get to Calgary. The cable guy is coming late on Saturday to do it for me. I have my priorities.

So there I will be on saturday, surrounded by suitcases (because the boxes are being shipped randomly), with my laptop computer and my knitting. Hopefully some knitting water too.

Until then, I don't know how much posting I will be doing. Not that its a shock or anything *snorts*

On the knitting front. Regarding Ribby Cardi ... I am on the ARMS!! I see a finished project in my future. Now I need to find a place to get a good zipper that matches. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Two - I started Lara from Debbie Bliss' Alpaca Silk book. Am doing it out of a beautiful periwinkle in All Season's Cotton.

flights = knitting

Yes it is amazing. I actually got knitting done today on the flight to Vancouver. I was able to finish the front pieces of my ribby cardi and start the sleeves.

Here's the kicker. Of course while I was at Angel Hair Yarn the other day I just had to get another project for the trip. One that I wouldn't have to think too much about if I didn't need to. I decided to do Lara out of Debbie Bliss' Alpaca Silk book. I am doing it in a beautiful Periwinkle shade of Rowan's All Season Cotton. Once I get home I am hopefully going to have some pictures to show you.

This is a short but sweet message just to say that I arrived safely. Its knitting water and mellow out time for the next few days!!

vacation = knitting

Friday was my last official day at work. I have to go in next week to hand in my id and some other odds and ends, plus I have a customer that I need to follow up on. But for the most part I am DONE!!!

Now, since I'm done work, do you think that I can get Rogue done in 4 days before I leave for my trip home? (this is the mini vacation before the move). *sighs* I am still on the ribbing of the front pieces, however, I am doing both sides at once AND I think I only have a half an inch to go on it before it gets into the stockingette part.

I am going to try. I doubt it will happen, but I am determined to make a go at it.

packing

the packing has started. I have tons of yarn. I didn't think that I realized that (perhaps it was major denial?) until I started going through it. Oh Well. I'm not getting rid of any of it. At least not much. I have projects in mind for all of it. Plus. I am really looking forward to heading off to Ikea and getting some great shelving units.

There is something really neat about starting out new. My house will have a clean slate where new memories are made and everything will be new (even if it IS used). My mom is so excited she can barely contain herself. She has everyone in Calgary either donating stuff for my kitchen or buying tv's etc for my house cheap from people she knows. It has been fantastic.

I have moved up my 'leave' date by one week. Everyone at work has been fantastic. But with me leaving, there isn't much for me to do other than get people trained who aren't (which everyone has a pretty good handle on things as it is). My boss has been wonderful and SO supportive. It has meant a lot to me because her opinion really matters as does her friendship. I am sad about the friends I am leaving behind, yet I know that if we are meant to be friends then we will continue no matter where I am living or where they move too.

I am working on breaking apart the mini movie that was done of my place so everyone can see it. Once I get that done i'll post it. You all will think its cute (at least i hope!). The outside like I said earlier isn't anything fantastic. But some flowers should do the trick!!

ps. shipping boxes UPS is expensive. Thankfully its not horrendously expensive. Plus I can't live without the yarn. I can't. I really really can't. Just thinking about it sends me into a mode of panic!

talk about life changes

I have had so much that I have wanted to share, but it hasn't really been a time nor was it the place to share everything until things were more finalized. For being a blog, on the internet, where its supposed to be annonymous, I know quite a few of my fellow readers! Which of course I'm not complaining about, its just that, other people needed to know first.

I am moving back to Calgary. At the end of April. I gave my notice at work at the beginning of the week. I have ALREADY found a place to live and signed a one year lease. It is SO cute and has tons of potential. PLUS there is a bedroom in the basement that just screams 'IKEA SHELVES' for all my yarn. (yes Calgary DOES have its very own Ikea). Cameron's daycare is literally around the corner from my new home. Its in a very trendy part of town. And I'm excited. I've been away from my family for too long! and no, my husband is not coming with me. BUT we are really really good friends and everything is okay. It was just stressful there for a few weeks.

So ... now here is the big dilemma. What yarn do I have shipped to me first? my husband is going to ship 2 or 3 boxes a week. How does a girl, with my yarn stash decide such a thing????????
