Normal??? NO freakin way

You Are 80% Normal

(Abnormally Normal)

Your behavior and ideas are... well ...

Very predictable and average

Surprised? Thought you were freaky?

You *are* freaky. Just freakishly normal!

How Normal Are You?

Interview and other misc stuff

The interview went fantastic! I have the job! She basically hired me on the spot. We are going through the temp agency for now and hopefully they will be able to hire me on full time. It all depends on what the person on maternity leave does. As for the other job I'm workng ... I am not doing much right now. Its not that busy but they don't want to let me go. So at least once I am done this job I have another one to go to. It should only be another two weeks or so.

From Caroline over at Just One more Stitch I borrowed this:

International Knit In Public Day
June 11
Where will You be seen knitting?

knitting on kids tv

Knitting as a hobby on a kids Tv show.

Dragon from TV Treehouse station in Canada was all about Dragon learning a new hobby which was knitting. He knit things for all of his friends. And all of his friends admitted that they loved to knit. Reciting "knit one, purl two".

We are taking over the world. Corrupting our young even. WOOHOO!

job interview

I have a job interview on Monday morning. The job placement agency that I have been working for has an Administrative Assistant position that they think I am right for. The company is huge. Although the money is a little less than what I was looking for, the potential for growth is huge. The contact at the company said to my supervisior that they would gladly have a performance review and re-evaluate the money in six months.

Please keep your fingers crossed. It is a job that is RIGHT up my alley.

On Knitting

All I have left of my Ribby Cardi is the sleeves. I have been working on Lara instead of it but I think I am going to spend some quality sleeve knitting time this weekend. I would like to have a finished sweater SOON.

heartwarming

when my child, while in bed, calls out after I leave after tucking him in for the night (at 2 1/2 years)

'I love you Mommy'

in Kidspeak.

*sigh*

it makes even the toughest days slip away.

Victoria Day

In Need

Its Victoria Day in Canada. A day off. The sun is shining. Its warm in Calgary and I am going through knitting group withdrawals. I need to hook up with some of the local Calgary knitters and get together for some coffee and good knitting times. I have been browsing some of the local shops but I haven't actually sat down with anyone. This has GOT to change. Thats why there is such a thing as a babysitter!!!

Knitting News

I have been knitting. I am working on the arms of my ribby ... I am doing both sleeves at once and have completed about a quarter of them. My car knitting is the bottom piece of Kyoto for when I'm at a light or stuck in traffic. Since its in the round and I don't have to count rows or stitches its an easy piece to work on.

Family time

Cameron and I went to the Calgary Zoo yesterday. It was a good time. He has been going through this phase where there are Monkey's everywhere ... in the closet, in the trees, in the car ... everywhere. So we went to see the monkeys in their real home, the zoo. We got there at about 9:30 and left at 12:30. He was WIPED out and crashed hard on the car ride home. I have pictures. I will post them hopefully tonight. I just need to find the cord for my camera...

a humble update

Yes I am still alive and extremely busy. Sorry for not sending out emails earlier or updating here. I have not taken pictures yet since there are suitcases and bags and kids stuff all over the house.

Ralph and Cameron arrived on Saturday. That was a bit of an event for them. They had long waits in both Nashville and Chicago due to plane troubles. Nothing like having to entertain a two and a half year old for 90 minutes before the plane even takes off. By the time they arrived in Calgary Ralph was wiped out. But, they were sent to Immigration due to a single male arriving with a child. I was frustrated because I was anxious to see Cameron but the other side of me was quite happy that they stopped them. The Immigration officer actually phoned me and then came out to see my identification to prove that yes I am Cameron's mom.

Cameron has had a lot of adjusting to do. He has been so tired but I think that he is adjusting ok. His crib and change table that I ordered from Toys R Us hasn't arrived yet. It was supposed to be here on Friday. I am hoping that it will be here Monday but I know that I won't be holding my breath. I will be calling them on Monday to see what is happening with that.

On the car front. I looked at a car that I thought would be awesome. Had it checked out and it sucked. BUT the silver lining was that my step dad talked to his mechanic and told them why we needed to see a mechanic. They had a perfect car for me. Its a 1988 mercede's .... its beauuuuutiful, in top notch condition, loaded and I got a great price for it. PLUS I own it fully. The great thing about this car is that its steel and sturdy. One of my big concerns regarding driving with Cameron, especially in the winter. The funny thing is that my mom has a car just like mine, just a different color.

For Mothers Day I got this:

I won't be getting it until June because the oil needs to dry but isn't it awesome??!!

As for other knitting content. I have been working on Lara and I picked up Kyoto out of my stash. I am actively working on the two of them again. Even though the amount of knitting that I am doing is minimal at least there is some. I am trying to get the house complete before I really sit down with it.

furniture?

Whats that?

I was supposed to get all of my furniture delivered today from a certain store. They messed up the day of delivery and scheduled it for this coming wednesday. But, see that doesn't work. For one, I was promised that I would get it today. Secondly, The temp agency that I interviewed with had a placement for me a day after I interviewed. So I have been working since last week. Nothing like jumping right into things!!!

I will have photos. That I promise. But I am going to wait until its ALL in here. So far, I have a kitchen table, one chair (the one my mom gave me), a coffee table and two end tables. Of course there are lamps and stuff. But I really look forward to having my couch!!

I also have been getting ALL my boxes that I shipped. I can't wait to get the shelving from Ikea. I'm not exactly sure when that is going to happen but it won't be happening until after I get a vehicle.

I also slipped into Knit One, Chat Two this weekend. I wasn't able to stay long BUT its very cute store.
