Ending 2005...

Today was a good day. First off, I only had to work a half a day. I did wake up at 4 am and couldn't get back to sleep so I got up around 6 am and got to work early. I did "thankfully" get a lot of work done and cleared off of my desk. It will make going back to work next week in 2006! so much easier. The first of the month is always insane!

Bright side of going to work today (other than getting WORK done) was that I received a package from my most FAVORITE yarn store Angel Hair Yarn in Nashville. It had the Winter Rowan in it AND the yarn to make the vest on the cover. I am going to be trying out knitting with Kidsilk ... I will see how my allergies do with it. I am looking forward to the experiment since I do love the yarn. Also, I received the new Knitting Pure and Simple patterns along with the best SOCK pattern ever by debb! Thanks you guys!!!

Then Gina and I met up to end the year with a good yarn crawl! We first met up at a newish store called Pudding. We looked and played with yarn of course! I walked away with a few books that I needed to get to help fill out my collection. Mostly from the Queensland Collection.

Gina found some yarn for a TitBit. A TitBit you ask? What is that? Well first you can check out the website which gives the full details but if that is too hard I can tell you a little bit about the TitBit. They are knitted boobs for auction as a fundraiser to raise awareness for Breast Cancer. Gina whipped a finished one out of her bag today and it is great! They can be done in virtually ANY size for any woman. If you are interested PLEASE read up on it HERE. There will be more on this later.

Then we got into our vehicles and headed up North about 10 minutes to the Knitting Room. They have expanded since the last time I was there. The store looks great. Gina just had to show me some Possum yarn, 70% Merino Wool and 30% Possum from New Zealand. Did I get some? What do you honestly think. Come on people, I may be a part of StashBusters but lets be realistic, I am an Addict! (admitting it is always the first step right?). Though I do have plans for Stashbusting (more on that in a bit). So yes, back to the Possum yarn. I got 7 skeins (it has GREAT yardage) for the Stone Walls vest from Folk Vests. After she had made off with her purchases and I with mine, it was off to Earls for a bite to eat and some talk of knitting and life. It was a great way to end the year! Thanks Gina!!

Now, I am NOT going to make any resolutions this year about weight or health or my life for that matter, however, I am going to make some goals for my knitting, they will be tracked on my sidebar and will not be deleted however I may add to them. Here is the list so far:

1. Finish my Crofter's Vest
2. Finish 2005 Knit with Your Wits sweater
3. Start and Finish Celtic Lattice
4. Start and Finish Stone Walls
5. Start and Finish 2006 Knit with your Wits project
6. Start and Finish phildar "beaugency" vest
7. Finish 3 pairs of socks
8. Cameron's wizard sweater

I actually have pictures of my stash enhancement project that I had on Boxing Day at Knit One Chat Too and from when I was in Edmonton. I need to download the pictures and probably won't get to it till the new year, but hey! at least they have been taken.

HELP....

I am addicted to Bloglines. I've just now realized it. I feel like my most favorite blanket that soothes and makes me happy and gives me SECURITY is GONE!! I know its only for maintenance BUT BUT I am CUT off from all of my blogs that I read. *whimpering*

*curling up in a ball on the couch, thumb in mouth, rocking, insanely, trying to get past this horrible time*

finally, some pictures

These pictures have only been sitting on my computer for over 2 months. So really, posting them now sort of seems like a moot point. However, since it is STILL 2005 I guess it still counts!

SO here we go. First is the log cabin blanket and the back of it that has the flannel. It was a baby present.

and the back

Then there is an actual finished sweater. Another amazing feat I know. Hold onto your seats people. Don't die of shock.

You can all now go to bed happy.

OH wait. Of course, one of the kidlet too...

at his holiday pageant waving his snow man...

and smiling for his mom once he saw me arrive.

Sunday night....

First off, lets talk about Survivor. I'm all about the fact that two women were at the final two. I liked both Danni and Steph though I have to admit I think that Steph played a better game.

Then ... Lets just take a moment to talk about Grey's Anatomy shall we. HE ADMITTED IT! oh my goodness. I almost freaking died!! The only thing is that we now have to wait for 3-4 weeks to see it again. *sighs*

I did however finish two sleeves for my 'knit with your wits' class. I have the back to do (which I'll start tomorrow). I would like to get this done before Christmas.
