you know ... that cable ... for the camera?

Ummm I can't find mine. Which equals no pictures. Cameron was playing with it ... now ... it could be anywhere.

I have finished my socks for the KAL.

I am almost finished the sweater for DomiKNITrix's test pattern.

Last night we figured out what to do with my Noro vest that I designed for my Knits with your Wits class. So I will be finishing that up this weekend.

ONCE I am done my sweater for DomiKNITrix then I will start my Autumn Fair Isle. I can't believe I haven't even swatched yet. I just won't let myself!!

Okay off to hunt down the cable. Its probably in the same place as the cable for my ipod.

Sweaters From Camp Knitalong

The Sweaters From Camp Knitalong has started, however, I have not started my sweater. First, I need to get through the UFOlympics before I can start this sweater.

I am working on Lara for the UFOlypics. I was stumped on it for a bit because I needed another set of needles, thus I had to wait until I got home before I could do anything with it. But it is back on schedule.

The other sweater that is delaying me is the one I am doing as a test knit for Jennifer at DomiKNITrix. I will post a picture of my progress? perhaps. *chuckles* I am on a deadline here!!

So once those two are done I am going to swatch for my SFC sweater. The one I chose is:

It is the cover sweater on the book and I fell in love with it. There are aspects of this sweater that I have not tried yet so its going to be a challenge and yet a pleasure to knit (hopefully!). I ordered the yarn from Anne at She Ewe Knits. I am using Jamieson's yarn. The colors are slightly more muted than the colors asked for in the book but that suits me just fine! Anne was awesome in pulling together the colors and consulting me. PLUS when it arrived it was in this great bag!

back from the spa...

I am back from my trip to the the Hills Health Ranch.

The trip was amazing. Upon my arrival at the spa I was checked into a great room. It had a huge king size bed, a couch and a huge huge huge (I mean four people could be in there) jetted tub. In the room there was also a mini fridge and microwave. Talk about pimped out for the middle of no where! I immediately got on the phone and called the front desk ... no not to switch rooms to something more basic ... but to do as any spa bound girl would do ... book a massage!

A schedule of how my mornings went were as follows:

8:00 Breakfast
9:00 Aerobics class
10:00 Yoga or Pilates
11:00 Aquafit
12:15 Lunch

Now let me tell you. The first full day that I was there I had my fitness assessment. Other than my weight, I am in great shape. I am fit. So, I know that once I lose about 10-15lbs I will be in the good to very good of the fitness test. I was very pleased with my results. I think that fear of knowing how fit I am or am not was one thing that kept me from getting tested. However, now that I know that I am in good to verygood shape (excellent in some area's) that I am going to get that much healthier each day that goes by.

Okay so I admit, I only had one day where I did the full three hours. Most days I did not do the aquafit class, not because it wasn't good, but because I knew that I did not want to push myself that hard.

After lunch, I had my spa treatments. Yes that was a plural. I had 2 spa treatments daily. Each day I had a massage and then something else. It was either a facial, a foot massage, a dry brush treatment or a wrap. Oh and I can't forget the scalp and facial massage *purrrrrrrr*.

Dinner was at 5:30 each night. What was so fantastic was that everyone who is on a package has the same table for their whole stay. I was able to get to know quite a few people who were staying at the spa. Most of them were not first timers. Oh, and the food was phenomenal. You would not THINK that it was healthy spa cuisine. Everything that was sweet was made with splenda so there is very little sugar in anything. My first night I had a fabulous dinner and dessert was crepes stuffed with frozen yogurt with a berry sauce. My mouth is watering just thinking of it.

The next time that I go back, I will be doing the same package but will stay for two weeks. Also, I will be doing more with the horses. Starting around March till November the spa offers a horse lovers package. You have your own horse for the week, do a bunch of riding, learn to ride and groom them plus have a horse whispering seminar. During the warmer months they actually allow the horses to roam freely on the property!!! That is what I am up for.

my Valentine's Roses from Ralph and Cameron!

So Excited...

I am going away this week! YAY! I am heading off to a spa for a WHOLE WEEK!

What am I going to do during this time? Well lets see. I'll be relaxing and working out, eating properly and being pampered.

No kidlet.
No Hubby.
No Work.
No Friends.
No Family.

And just me. Time to myself. To rejuvinate. And Knit.

Of course I am going to knit you silly gooses. The UFOlympics has two projects on the go for me. I am determined to finish my secret project and Lara.

I also received my "Sweaters From Camp" book today in the mail. I think I've changed my mind on my project I think. But I'm not sure. They are so AWESOME. *sigh* such decisions. So I'll be bringing this book to read and study while I am gone.

Healthier Me

I am down .5lbs. My calories were boosted as I have been working out 5-7 days a week. Its been great. I feel like I am making some huge changes to my life. All for the positive too.

I don't know how much access I'll have to the internet when I am away, so I probably will not post until I get back.
