November 28, 2006how was 2006...Taken from SweetGeorgia Even though the year isn't over again ... we still have a whole month to go ... but I'm going to attempt to answer and perhaps update once the year is over. How was 2006 for you? 2006 has been a year of constant change and ups and downs. A change of job, a failed marriage, separation with no hope of reuniting, family member dying, family members sick, purchase of a new home, a wonderful child, a fantastic yarn store to hang out in, spinning, knitting. It hasn't been the best of years, but it has taught me that I am strong. I am ok. I don't need anyone. That even on the worst day, all I need to do is look at my son and I smile. What was the highlight of your year? Buying my house. What did you want to accomplish that you didn’t get to? my 2006 knitting list! What are you planning for 2007? * learning to dye fibre Posted by Morgan at 1:04 PM

November 24, 2006Dots![]() Yes there really are dots used with the Big Girl Knits sessions. The retreat was a blast. I am tired. I am spinning. I am knitting. I am crocheting. I will take pictures of stuff soon. I am going through all of my old clothing and giving it away. Once I am done that I will be learning how to dye yarn & roving. I promise. Pictures soon. Ps. My Postperson doesn't like me. 3 packages lost/returned to me. One for me sent back to sender. Another for me but coded to another person. *grrr* Posted by Morgan at 3:06 PM

November 6, 2006catching up?Right now I wonder if I'll ever catch up! I am still unpacking and of course I have two packages to send out for swaps and can't figure out where I actually put the packages! I'll be looking tomorrow since I teach a top down raglan class tonight. So here is a quick recap: I have received a bunch of packages - sockret pal, International Scarf Exchange and Hot Socks ... I went to the Dixie Chicks last night. Did they ever rock. I want to see their documentary when it comes out too. The best was a sign that someone in the crowd had made which said "Everyone hates a nasty Bush". (or something like that) My dad is going down hill. We think that he will be in a respitory coma shortly. He is gurgling and very out of it. *makes me sad* I am knitting up a storm on my Retreat Sweater. Make One Yarn Studio (to lazy to link right now) has set up a retreat at Emerald Lake and we are meeting with the ladies from Big Girl Knits! Two nights, all food, all alcohol, enough yarn for a sweater, instruction, down time, one on one appointments. So I am working on a top down quicky pullover to wear with jeans out of Sheep Shop 2 yarn. Am halfway done the body. I need sleep. I am really tired. But that is part of the depression. Work is crazy. And I am keeping it together. More updates with pictures (I hope) this week.
Do you prefer sock yarn that is a solid color, variegated, or striping? I like all three What are your favorite colors & are there any colors that you do not like? Neon colors I'm not crazy about, or bright yellow .. everything else is pretty much fair game How long have you been spinning & knitting? years and years and years Do you have any fiber allergies or preferences? no mohair or angora ... and no rough rough wool Are you willing to hand wash your socks or are you a machine wash only knitter? doesn't matter Do you have any favorite candy or treats? chocolate and ketchup chips Anything else you'd like to share with your pal? I'm pretty easy going with my packages. I love seeing what people throw together. Often I end up trying a yarn or something that I normally would not have chosen for myself. Also, if you live in a town with a Starbuck's I collect the Starbuck's City Mugs. I have them from all over the world. Even if I have it already I'll be in love since its a "backup". November 2, 2006Its November...Where does the time go? I guess if I wasn't so busy I would be able to enjoy all that has been going on around me. Like the leaves changing. The first snowfall. Knitting. Spinning. All of that. And since I haven't been able to enjoy all of that I am going to give you some pictures of what has been going on. ![]() Malabrigio Scarf - Crochet
